 What is a third party event? A third-party event is any fundraising activity completed by a non-affiliated group or individual where Gilda´s Club Simcoe Muskoka is the beneficiary. Since we receive no government funding and are completely reliant on the generosity and support of corporations, grants and private individuals - these events are a key element to keeping the Red Door open and offering our Program FREE OF CHARGE. While we are able to provide advice and guidance, Gilda´s Club Simcoe Muskoka cannot advance funds, provide donor lists, solicit our members or procure sponsorship revenue for third party fundraising events. Additionally, our availability to provide staff and representation is limited by staff size and Clubhouse obligations. We appreciate your willingness to help and therefore want to ensure that their are no disappointments or misunderstandings as the event progresses. Gilda´s Club Simcoe Muskoka is a welcoming and supportive community for anyone living with - or affected by - cancer. Men, women, teens and children – along with their families and friends are welcome to the Clubhouse. Whether someone is looking for laughter, social activity, information, resources or an understanding ear, Gilda´s Club Simcoe Muskoka is the place to learn how to live with cancer, whatever the outcome. Each cancer-related experience is unique and members are encouraged to ´come as they are´ to share their experiences and benefit from the collective wisdom that emerges from networking within´ the community. Our innovative program is an essential complement to medical care - providing networking and support groups, workshops, education and social activities. Before you begin your third party event... Prior to hosting an event to benefit Gilda´s Club Simcoe Muskoka, we ask that your fill out a Third Party Event Proposal Form. The form must be submitted and approved by Gilda´s Club Simcoe Muskoka before the event can be promoted to the public. The name, nature and date of the event must be included in the proposal form as well as a promotional plan and budget. We will review the proposal and determine whether the event supports the mission and image of Gilda´s Club Simcoe Muskoka. Once the event has been approved, we would ask that the organizers update us regularly about the event. Planning an event can be a challenging, yet fun and rewarding experience and we look forward to working with you.
