Why Support Gilda’s Club?

For people learning to live with cancer, the feeling of emotional distress can be hard to bear. Maybe you have seen this with someone you care about.  Members of Gilda's Club Simcoe Muskoka what that feels like. Every member of Gilda's Club has felt the impact of cancer. They've also felt the power of the emotional and social support they find in the cancer support community at Gilda's Club. Here they find the information, companionship and emotional support they need to make it through their cancer journey, whatever the destination.

March Break Madness!

Fun, FREE activities for youth ages 4-17. Come connect with other children impacted by cancer for some March Break adventures! Children must either be a Gilda’s Club Simcoe Muskoka Member, or have a parent or guardian who is a Member, to participate in March Break Kamp.

Excursion: Jack’s Urban Jungle

Come get in touch with your wild side while we zip-line, trampoline, wall-climb and MORE at Jack’s Urban Jungle.

Tuesday, March 17

Excursion: Royal Ontario Museum

Dinosaurs, gemstones, mummies- OH MY! Hop aboard our big yellow school bus as we head to Toronto for a field trip that is sure to me memorable, fun, and educational!

A waiver is required for children to participate in this excursion. Download the waiver here.

Drop off is at 8:30am/ Pick up at 5:30pm at Gilda’s Club Simcoe Muskoka

Children must bring a bagged lunch, including two snacks, and a water bottle.

Join us for a fun and educational afternoon full of classic science experiments such as slime-making, “coca-cola explosions”, and more!

Get your art on at Gilda’s! Children will enjoy letting their creativity loose through a variety of expressive arts activities.

Cancer 101 For Kids: Saturday, January 18

1:00 – 3:00pm

This play-based workshop will help children learn about cancer in a fun and developmentally-appropriate way. Children will have the opportunity to have their questions answered and connect with others who have also been touched by cancer.


Kids Cope:  Saturday, February 15

1:00 – 3:00pm

This play-based workshop will focus on feelings that can be experienced when children are touched by cancer. Children will have the opportunity to learn about healthy coping strategies to work through their feelings in a fun and creative way.


Teddy Bear Clinic: Saturday, March 28

1:00 – 3:00pm

The Teddy Bear Clinic is a fun, child-friendly event to educate and familiarise children with medical experienced related to cancer. Children and families will have the opportunity to bring their special plush friend around the Clubhouse to a series of “hospital stations”, including registration, taking of vitals, imaging, chemo, and more. Each station will provide children with a hands-on opportunity to learn more about common medical experiences and procedures that someone with cancer may have.
