Gilda's Club Simcoe Muskoka 15th Anniversary Red Tie Gala

A Legacy of Love Begins

In 1989, the world lost Gilda Radner—a woman who made millions laugh but whose greatest gift was her ability to bring people together. Her experience with ovarian cancer sparked something profound: a vision that no one should face cancer alone. That vision became Gilda’s Club Simcoe Muskoka.
A Dream Takes Root in Simcoe Muskoka
In 2003, Patricia Gilbert stood at a crossroads. A close friend’s cancer diagnosis made her realize something was missing: a place where people could find more than just medical treatment – a space offering programs designed to reduce cancer-related distress and foster community support.

Determined to bring Gilda’s spirit to Simcoe Muskoka, Patricia and a team of dedicated volunteers launched a seven-year journey of fundraising, advocacy, and unwavering belief.

On September 17, 2010, Gilda's Club Simcoe Muskoka opened its Red doors, marking a new beginning in providing free cancer care support for our community.
Help Us Keep the Red Door Open
Over the years, the clubhouse has evolved into a place of emotional and social support for those impacted by cancer. Located across from Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, Gilda’s Vision-now our vision- aims to ensure that everyone impacted by cancer receives the support they want and need throughout their experience.

This milestone for Gilda’s Club Simcoe Muskoka gives us a chance to reflect on the past 15 years. The clubhouse has provided support, education, and hope to all individuals and families affected by cancer who walk through its doors.

Gilda’s Club Simcoe Muskoka offers comprehensive, evidence-based programs centered around five core pillars: support services, education, social connection, healthy lifestyles, and creative expression. These programs foster a deep sense of belonging and are available free of charge to all participants. We believe, Community is Stronger than Cancer

Help Us Keep the Red Door Open

As we look forward to keeping the Red Door open for another 15 years, we remain
committed to offering free psychosocial support, counseling, and programs in a place where
no one faces cancer alone. And to do this, we look to YOU for help.

Since we do not receive regular government funding, Gilda’s Club Simcoe Muskoka depends on the
generosity and support of local businesses and individuals. The cost of programming
per member is $1,500 per year, and last year we welcomed 300 new members through
the Red Door.

We are incredibly grateful for your support over the past fifteen years. As we mark this
milestone, we ask for your help in sustaining and expanding our programs to meet the
growing demand. Your support can help us reach our $450, 000 Anniversary Campaign
Goal.

Donate today for individuals facing cancer and join the Gilda’s Club community,
believing that community is stronger than cancer.
